Approach: I am a strong believer in using our instruments as a vehicle for personal development, much like training a sport, business endeavor, or any other pursuit that requires consistent work over time. Throughout my playing career, I have noticed that I may have learned more “life lessons” from playing viola than I have in just about anywhere else. Through work on the fundamentals of the instrument and standard repertoire, I view each lesson as an opportunity for growth, not only as a musician, but as more well-rounded individuals.
